one: Focus on the setting, characters and conflicts.
Plot of the play: When Dad and Mom arrive back home earlier
than expected,

Summary
of Act one: Mom and Dad return from vacation a day earlier than expected,
only to find Eric playing soccer in the living room, the dog sick and
starving, money for dog food gone and the house in a mess, which causes a big
fight.

two: Questions:
? What is the emergency they have?
? Why does Daniel ask Eric not to explain to their parents?
? Why does Dad think that they have to punish Daniel?

文本分析:
本課是一篇戲劇劇本。故事敘述的是美國一個小家庭的矛盾沖突。這個戲劇發生在美國的
Eric 和 Daniel 家。爸爸媽媽外出,留下兩個孩子照顧家,照顧他們的寵物狗。結果爸爸媽媽提前回家,看到家中狼藉一片,對兩個孩子,尤其是對Daniel 大動肝火,Daniel 憤憤離開……
戏剧的特點是矛盾冲突以及戏剧的可饰演性。文本以对话形式呈现,辅助以舞台说明。语言简洁,多有省略表达。重點词汇主要涉及mess的细节描写,人物動作和情感相关词汇frightened, upset, be supposed to, fault, defend, emergency,
deserve, be hard on, rude。本文的价值取向在于学生通过本文的学习,学会处理好、协调好人际交往中的
误解与矛盾冲突。和諧交流是课文學习的教育思想的体现,也是德育的一个方面。
學情分析:
本班学生英语基础好,学习态度较认真,学习热情高。学生了解戏剧的形式,具备了在阅读中获取细节信息的能力,部分学生能用英语自信地表达观點。但是多数学生的概括能力,表达以及论证自己观點,以及评价人物性格方面比较欠缺。
教學目標:
在本科学习结束時,学生能够:
1. 識別戲劇的文本特征和了解戲劇的閱讀策略。
2. 概括、整合該戲劇的主要情節。
3. 推斷人物情感,並用台詞和舞台說明舉例論證。
4. 總結家庭沖突的根源,解決家庭沖突的方法——冷靜,理智地溝通,做負面情緒的主人。
教学重點:
学生通过阅读,获取戏剧的主要情节,整合推断出人物情感和心理活動。声情并茂地表演戏剧片段。
教学难點:
概括主要情节時,用词的准确性。分析人物情感和解决矛盾冲突的方法。
